"My computer background before attending ComputerTraining.com was very minimal. Though I had some experience, it was not enough or “the right experience.” The main reason for me to get certified was due to most employers disregarding my resume due to no certifications or experience.
My new career will afford me the opportunity to grow and expand on the knowledge I already possess. Not only is my new career in the field I went to school for, it’s also in the industry that I feel very passionate about.
Of course, the biggest concern was the financial burden it would hold on me. The best way that I find to deal with this is to understand what I will get out of this program in the future. This program has already opened doors for me that I would not have opened if it were not for my certifications.
My advice to new students is to take full advantage of career placement. They played an active part in my job search and without the help of career placement I would still be in a dead end job making very little money and unhappy. The career placement services are free: utilize them.
Overall, this has been a great experience…very challenging, but great. I have gained skills that will stay with me for the rest of my life and can be used to land that perfect job. Not only do I have a four year college degree, but I will now have certifications to go along with the degree. The sky is the limit for me. I have met so many exciting people through ComputerTraining.com; I truly feel it was one of the best choices I’ve made in my life."

"The only computer experience I had before ComputerTraining.com was basic home use. I decided to make a career change because of what the economy had done to the construction industry. I was losing hours, my yearly raises stopped happening and I eventually lost my insurance.
With my new skill set, I don’t have to worry about a lay off anymore. It seems like the opportunities are endless if you are willing to put in the work.
The only advice I could give to new students is to ask questions. I felt dumb at the beginning of the course, because I had so many questions about things I didn’t understand right away. I made myself work way harder than I needed to because I didn’t want to ask. At ComputerTraining.com, the only dumb question is one that isn’t asked."

"My adventures with computers started when I was in junior high school. I had found something that was just as interesting as video games. Over the years I would try to get the latest and greatest systems so I could tear them apart and put them back together, and then eventually teaching myself how to program. I was a Communications and Electronics specialist in the military, which just motivated my passion for computer systems and drove me to actively pursue the field as a civilian. After working a number of jobs within Information Technology, I lacked the networking experience the employers were looking for. Not pursuing my education, I found myself working in purchasing for the past seven years. I heard the ComputerTraining.com advertisement on the radio and decided to take the Online Skills Challenge. Upon completing the random questions that were asked, I received a call from a placement director within twenty minutes. I met with my director, and knew that this program was exactly what I needed to get back into the industry. Within three days, I was signed up and ready to start learning.
The key to my success was my instructor. He was able to take the most complex theories and put them into a context that any student could grasp. He was available anytime you needed more explanation and when a lab needed to be looked at in more depth. With his teachings, a lot of hard work and dedication, I have been able to achieve my MCP, MCSA, MCSE and a six month internship with ComputerTraining.com. The other side of the classroom program holds another key to my success: the Placement Services. The Director of Placement went above and beyond on helping me get placed with a great company where I get to use everything that I have learned at ComputerTraining.com. I knew a lot about computers, but ComputerTraining.com took me to a much higher professional level. I owe everything to the staff for their motivation on making sure I succeed, and to my beautiful wife and kids for making sure that I studied and took those exams and get my certifications. I am currently a Network Administrator. My future plans are to excel within my new career, achieve my MCTS for Exchange Server 2007, Windows Vista, Live Communications Server 2007 and to upgrade my MCSA and MCSE to Windows Server 2008. To all the staff at ComputerTraining.com, I would like to say thank you for everything."

"I graduated college in 2004 with my Bachelors degree in Computer Science and thought at the time that I was on track for a great career. After a lot of searching for this great career, I learned that nobody at that time had a need for an entry level programmer. Everybody wanted at least three years experience. But, how do I get this experience if nobody will give you an opportunity? I ended up setting for a sales position for a heavy duty construction company. I worked at this company for two years trying to be content with just having a job in Michigan with our declining economy. However, that didn’t last long, I wanted more for myself and I expected more for myself. After listening to the radio ad about ComputerTraining.com, I was a little skeptical, but I checked it out anyway. I saw that they could provide hands-on training and I could learn the IT side of the computer world to add to my resume.
I am happy I made the decision. I learned from an exceptional instructor starting in June 2007 and found my dream job in December 2007. I now work for the number one software company in Michigan and I am being paid to get state-of-the-art training at their facilities. ComputerTraining.com has helped me achieve my goals and find a job that I am actually happy to work at on a daily basis."

"Without any type of computer background or formal education in the field, I was asked a couple of years ago to help troubleshoot various desktop problems in addition to managing a customer service department. This developed into working on servers, email, firewalls, etc. and much of it was read a book or web page, try to fix. If it didn’t work, I started over. I enjoyed what I was doing and wanted to work in this field full time. A year ago, the company I worked for sold off part of its product line. I was worried that if I had to find a new job, that I did not have any formal training in networking. I read about Microsoft’s Certification Program, which lead into contacting ComputerTraining.com.
The one item I like most about working as a Network Administrator is that everyday is something different. Today I might be troubleshooting a desktop issue, and tomorrow I might be working on the email server. Since I am the only “computer guy” for the company, my day is varied. I am doing something I really enjoy. A year ago I could not say that.
Commitment was my biggest concern. How can I make the financial commitment? Working fulltime already, can I commit to the studies? Everyone at ComputerTraining.com was very helpful and answered all my questions before I decided to sign up. Admissions helped me with getting started and answered all my financial questions. I had concerns about the job market and what to expect and Career Services put my mind at ease. And the instructor helped me out with my questions regarding the pace of the class and what to expect outside of the class.
Work hard and stay committed. Good things will happen. I stayed focused and gave up a lot in the six month. I studied two to three hours for every hour in class, worked with classmates in study groups and had many late nights working on the material. Try to take exams all throughout the track so the material is fresh to you. I started in July 2007, by January 2008, I had my MCP, MCSA, MCSE certificates, and I decided to stay with my current employer where I got full tuition reimbursement and a promotion to Network Administrator which included a raise. The hard work paid off for me and I am glad that I spent the time I did.
Even though I have stayed with the same employer, my life and career have changed greatly due to my experience at ComputerTraining.com. I have gained job security with a company I enjoy working for. Financially, I am better off than I was six months ago. Having knowledge from the track has actually reduced the amount of stress in my life. I know that I can confidently troubleshoot problems, develop network solutions for my employer and maintain our network. I am now studying for MCSE+Security and MCSE+Messaging. Seven months ago, I didn’t even know what that meant!"

My computer background was basically self-taught on repairs, building and troubleshooting. I worked in sales and factory hard labor and the money wasn’t good, so the choice I made was to go for computer certifications. What I like about my new career are the hours, money and how easy it is in comparison to my old jobs.
My biggest concerns beforehand: Would I be able to find work and how soon?
My advice to students would be be in class; don’t miss them. You can learn a lot just by attending and being there. Study hard, get involved in the class and participate! The overall experience has changed my life in the way that I got laid off from my previous job on October 2nd, I had a baby on October 15th. I found work in the computer industry in November. Six months after that, I got promoted to a service manager and the rest is history."

"I’ve built quite a few computers by myself for friends and family. I taught myself in HTML and web design. My friend and I used to talk about starting our own computer business when we were younger. It wasn’t until after I got out of the Airforce that I finally decided to start working towards what I had been longing for.
The best thing about my new career in that everyone is so nice. Also, the benefits are awesome; healthcare, dental and 401k life insurance. Not to mention the experience that I’m getting.
My biggest fears were not being able to remember what I was learning. My instructor made things a lot easier on me and also his real life experiences helped me to relax and just take everything as it comes. My advice would be to relax, do your research and do what the staff tells you…they’re professionals.
I’ve learned a lot, made a lot of friends and gained a lot of new experiences and new views on not just the business world, but also life. I can honestly say ComputerTraining.com was the best decision I’ve ever made."

"I have been interested in computers since I got a Commodore 64 at the age of eight. I have played with every version on Windows from Windows 3.11 through Vista. I tried to get my certification back in NT 4.0, but I did not understand some of the info and had no one to ask. I had forgotten about the certifications since then, till I heard about ComputerTraining.com.
I am grateful for the experience I had because now a lot more opportunities are available to me and I have met many great people at ComputerTraining.com, students and staff alike.
The program was great, the labs were challenging, and there was a lot of hard work involved with passing the program and the exams. ComputerTraining.com showed me that with drive and ambition, and some help from fellow students and instructors, I can succeed in the world of network administration."

"I have always enjoyed computers and setting up offices and friends and family. I have used computers often in positions for three different companies I have owned since 1992. I like the challenge of getting things up and running and educating users how to resolve most things on their own.
My biggest fear coming into the program was the cost; however I overcame that because I wanted a new change. You must commit to yourself and to your family and put everything into the class. Know that if you stay on a timeline with the course material, you will pass all your exams.
My life now is very good and very different because I actively pursued jobs in conjunction with ComputerTraining.com’s career placement. You can become very selective and picky when more offers are on the table for you. I now have my experience and my certifications. This affords me continued confidence in job security and upward mobility in the industry. Thank you ComputerTraining.com!"

"My computer background prior to coming to ComputerTraining.com was slim to none. Most of my experience was self taught through helping out friends and family with their PC issues. My biggest concern was the money. The money reflects what you are going to potentially earn, so my fears were set aside. There is no reason to not go for it!
I first landed a position with Geek Squad because of the schooling. My new career as an I.S. Technician for Hirotec is amazing and more than I could have hoped for. What else could I ask for?
My advice is to be patient and start where you can. It only goes up from there. Also know you have a great professional team behind you. Overall I owe the rest of my life and career to the team here at ComputerTraining.com. Thank you to this awesome team, a great time, and much learned."
